Eddie Weir – PPCIAT MCIAT

Eddie Weir is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (November 2019 – November 2021) and has previously held the posts of Vice-President Practice and Regional Chair for the CIAT Northern Ireland Regional Committee.

Eddie is Chair of many of CIAT’s task groups, such as its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Climate Change task groups.

Externally, Eddie is the Vice-Chair of the Northern Ireland Construction Professionals Council (which is affiliated to the CIC) and is a member of the Management Boards of the prestigious NI Construction Group and the Construction Industry Forum of Northern Ireland, representing the industry at the highest level. He is an elected Deputy Director of the Construction Industry Council and is also an Ambassador and the current President of the Architects’ Benevolent Society (ABS) where Architectural Technology professionals are supported alongside Architects & Landscape Architects.

Eddie is a graduate of Ulster University with a first class BSc Honours degree in Architectural Technology and Management and is a Chartered Architectural Technologist. He is the principal partner and founder of Architectural Design Partnership (ADP). Since its conception in 1999, he has grown the practice into one of the most highly regarded architectural practices in Northern Ireland. Eddie has a wealth of experience, which he brings to all of the practice’s projects regardless of their size.

Aside from his ADP role, Eddie is a frequent guest speaker at professional seminars and workshops regarding Architectural Technology and architecture. He also represents CIAT as an expert witness at Parliament Buildings at Stormont, when required.

Eddie was an honoured recipient of the prestigious CIAT Gold Award in November 2014.
