At this year’s International Property Awards held in London, two Aedas projects beat other regional winning projects from Europe, Africa and the Americas and were crowned Best International Architecture, and one named Best Asia Pacific Architecture:
- Founder International Financial Center, Wuhan, China (designed by Executive Director Leo Liu and Chairman and Global Design Principal Keith Griffiths) – Best International Commercial High-rise Architecture
- Kuntai Wangjing Plot 2 Exhibition Centre, Beijing, China (designed by Executive Director Pierre Tong) – Best International Leisure Architecture
- Sunshine 100 Wenzhou Centre, Wenzhou, China (designed by Global Design Principals Christine Lam and David Clayton) – Best Retail Architecture Asia Pacific
Founder International Financial Center features a 238-metre and a 150-metre towers with a three-level retail podium. Its design was inspired by the totem of dragons – the double curve lines rising upwards through the towers symbolise two rising dragons.
Kuntai Wangjing Plot 2 Exhibition Centre is a sculptural landmark with ‘flying curves’. The flexible design allows it to be transformed from a sales office and exhibition centre to a community clubhouse with restaurants, exhibition and communal spaces in the future.
Sunshine 100 Wenzhou Centre includes a retail village with a design that takes full advantage of the waterfront location and combines cultural programmes. Water elements are brought into the core of the retail and connects the whole development. A central sunken courtyard is the core public event space connecting the north-south axis to the river-side promenade.
The long-established International Property Awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.
