Muscat – Mysk Al Mouj continues to succeed in its promise of providing a contemporary hospitality experience that showcases the wealth of Arabian culture, claiming two new accolades at the International Property Awards, a world-renowned design mark of excellence. Oman’s celebrated new hospitality venue competed against entries from across the Sultanate winning both the Hotel Interior and Hotel Architecture categories, making it one of the most acclaimed new hotels in the GCC.

Designed around a contemporary interpretation of the Arabic culture and classical calligraphy, Mysk Al Mouj’s interior concept borrowed from Oman’s stunning landscapes and heritage as a source of inspiration for its award winning design.

Shafik Alaaeddine, General Manager of the hotel, said, “Mysk Al Mouj, part of the Global Hotel Alliance, has had an extraordinary year thus far and one deserved of our brand’s impeccable taste, precision, and creativity. We like to think that through such achievements and international standards it is clear that Mysk Al Mouj has categorically become the venue of choice as one celebrated for its design and architecture, and much more. The Hotel’s latest success at the International Property Awards has placed us in a short list of nominees for the next tier of regional awards, scheduled for October, which is somewhat of a calling for guests and travellers seeking a high-end hospitality experience in the heart of a thriving tourism destination”.

Mysk Al Mouj has scooped a number of awards since its entry into the market nine months ago, including the World Travel Awards’ honourable conclusion of the venue as Oman’s New Leading Hotel.

Sheikh Salem AL-Ghazali, Chairman of the Golden Group Holding, mentioned: “We are proud to see the property being recognised for all the efforts being put in by all stakeholders. It clearly was designed and built relevant to the market, proven by the popularity the property enjoys since its opening, only less than a year ago. We are confident the hotel will continue to excel especially with the new exciting developments happening in Al Mouj”

As the lead designer of the venue, Godwin Austen Johnson’s creative team successfully transformed local traditions into a narrative capable of producing unique, appealing, award-winning public spaces. The firm is an award-winning multi-disciplinary practice based in Dubai and working on projects across the Middle East.

Regional awards are further staged for venues in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and territories from across Asia Pacific. The awards will be celebrated at gala events in Bangkok, Dubai, London, and Toronto throughout the remainder of 2018.

Now in their 25th year the International Property Awards are judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, the Earl of Liverpool, and Lord Thurso, all of which are members of the House of Lords in the British Parliament. The judging criteria remains focused on aspects of design, quality, service, innovation, originality and sustainability.
