Awards were given out for the Middle East’s most impressive developments, architecture and interior design for a variety of property types, including leisure facilities, shopping centres, high-rises, public service buildings, office complexes, and multiple and single residences. In addition to honouring the most innovative and attractive properties, a number of awards were bestowed upon the region’s best estate agencies, property consultants, lettings agencies and industry websites and marketing campaigns. Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards, presented each winning company with special plaques during the awards ceremony. Each company was announced as either a ‘Highly Commended’ or ‘5-Star’ winner.

The 5-Star winners were placed under further examination and just one from each category was named a regional Arabian winner at the close of the awards gala. The regional winners, also known as ‘International Nominees,’ will go on to compete in the International Property Awards, which will be hosted in London at the Grosvenor House Hotel on December 6th. They will compete against other regional winners from Asia, Africa, the UK, Europe and the Americas to find the ultimate World’s Best in each category.

Arabia is the fifth completed region in the 2013 International Property Awards, following the events of the Asia Pacific region hosted last May in Kuala Lumpur, the European awards hosted in London in September and the African awards hosted in conjunction with the Arabian awards.

Stuart Shield, president of the International Property Awards, said,

In recent years, the Middle East has wowed the world with its grand-scale buildings and incomparable design. Through the work of the winners of the 2013 Arabian Property Awards, the Middle Eastern property industry continues to flourish and to successfully attract more investors and tourists to the region.

The Arabian Property Awards are part of the long established International Property Awards, the world’s richest competition when measured by the value of the projects entered. The award winners’ logo is recognised as a symbol of excellence throughout the global industry. The awards rank amongst the most prestigious commendations in the residential and commercial property industries. Participants enter representing their country and have the chance to win at a national, regional, or international level. A high-calibre jury of international experts identifies the most significant building projects as well as the highest quality estate agencies.

The judging panel consists of approximately 70 professionals including Andrew Panting, Director of Operations for the British Property Federation, Peter Bolton King, Global Residential Director of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and Christian Morris, Director / Owner of architectural firm Yotomo Ltd.
